Berkeley School's History

Berkeley School was started in 1976 by a group of parents (10 families) from the Amherst-Oakmont School who talked three Amherst teachers into opening a new school when the Amherst closed. Those first families had tremendous influence on how the school was initially set up. Those first parents and the three young, idealistic teachers pooled their visions of what a wonderful school should be and the result was Berkeley School.
